4. Maun Valley plan: managing a LNR
The Mansfield District Community Strategy has a headline target of creating or enhancing over 60 hectares of new wildlife habitat for the enjoyment of local people by 2008.
Mansfield District Council is proposing to help meet this target by designating and managing a number of its own wildlife rich sites as Loca Nature Reserves.
The Maun Valley management plan is being devised for a river corridor that is a significant landscape and wildlife feature of the local community.
