Rationale
In the past the colony of early purple orchids within Blackberry Wood has been identified as an important population of this species. Limits can not be set at present due to a lack of information. Therefore the main priority for this species is to initiate a detailed survey.
This population occurs within an area of mixed deciduous woodland and advice from an external specialist should be sought before any management work is carried out.
