Rationale

In the past the colonies of pyramidal orchids within the open chalk grassland areas have been identified as important populations of this species. Limits can not be set at present due to a lack of information. Therefore the main priority for this species is to initiate a detailed survey.
These populations are becoming more widespread with the reintroduction of grazing and are beginning to occur on areas where previously they have not occurred.
