Natural wonders are places where the surface of the planet have been sculpted by natural forces such as earthquakes, massive water flows, volcanic upheavals and the action of wind and rain.  The result is a large variety of spectacular natural phenomena spread across all the continents. Examples are the Great Barrier Reef, the Okefenokee Swamp, the Dead Sea and the Ngorongoro Crater of the African Rift Valley.  Although massive in terms of their topography the pressures of tourists attracted by the allure of 'breathtaking phenomena' their fine detail is not immune to human activity.
