• Encourage by propagation of species which grow on the reserve, the development of shrub growth in the stream valleys, near the pond banks and in other sheltered areas- to provide cover and food for migrant birds.
• At the farm garden encourage shrubs and scrub in the  garden and courtyard areas by planting indigenous species and by protecting the area form rabbit grazing.
• Encourage the survival of gorse at Gorse Hill by protecting part of the area from rabbits. Monitor the results.
