• Monitor populations in August each year by fixed grid trapping. The method has been established by Tim Healing since 1972.
• Consider extending population monitoring to regularly include a line transect or point recording method. At least every 5 or 10 years.
• Promote a wider survey to further understand their distribution and identify areas of importance, see also the bracken section 2.4.2.1
• Maintain adequate areas of suitable habitat for the Voles.
• Prevent accidental introduction of other rodents or any mammal

• Promote research whenever applicable to further understand the biology of the vole especially in relation to its habitat.
