1.2 Environmental groups
Environmental organisations are taking a lead role in Mansfield District to improve wildlife habitats.
The Nottinghamshire Biodiversity Action Group has the responsibility for overseeing and monitoring the Nottinghamshire target habitats and species, of which a significant proportion are located in Mansfield District.
The Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust’s Natural Connections Project and the Sherwood Forest Trust’s Community Ranger Project are taking a lead role in coordinating practical work, community participation and involvement to improve Mansfield District Local Nature Reserves.
The Natural Connections Project and the Community Ranger Project have received Wildspace! Funding from 2002-2005 to carry out this work and are reporting on progress to English Nature, the local steering group and the MASP Environment Group.
