Deep down we all want to know how we fit into a greater scheme of things, and this
type of question motivates us to try to understand our planet. Some may take a
spiritual viewpoint, others require a scientific explanation. Underneath it all is our
innate curiosity about our surroundings. We all quickly develop a sense of place
wherever we may be and we understand that we affect Earth and Earth affects us.
Connection with nature leads to social action to protect our planet from human
activity. Thinking globally with our planet allows us to embrace the connection
with each other. These are the links between our curiosity about how Earth is and
our desire to be connected to it.
We came to have a place in the world by bonding
locally and globally.
