management is required
- Monitor
population at regular intervals ie annually by faecal counts or by
indexing black rabbit numbers ??
- Keep
rabbits out of exclosures to ensure studies are not affected by
grazing.
- Allow
warden and staff to take a small number of rabbits for their own
consumption.
- Record
incidences of myxomatosis if outbreak affects a significant
proportion of the population.
- Avoid the
introduction of any mammalian predators.

studies to further understand the effects of rabbits on cliff slope
and maritime grassland areas
- Promote
studies to further understand the role of Rabbits in the provision
of burrows for Puffins and Manx Shearwaters.

flora and fauna of Skomer Describe effect of myxomatosis on the
rabbit population
