1 Species management option b3 encouragement and increase

• By regular ringing at the breeding colonies monitor populations and survival.
• Protect from Little Owls by removing individual owls whenever predation is found.
• Survey, by means of a thermal imager, all known and likely breeding sites to try and establish the size and distribution of the colonies.

2 Study and research option c2 specialist facility

• The small size of the population precludes any intensive study. Nevertheless consider any proposal which might be of management value to the species on Skomer and Skokholm

3 General access and recreation option e1 closed

• Despite frequent requests from the public all cliff sites are closed except:-
  • the small colony at North Haven which can be viewed safely at night from the trac tor path or the beach
  • when the warden or his assistant personally invites and supervises individuals during  a visit to a colony.
